This crochet wrap bracelet works up very quickly using chain stitches and single crochets. The beads and thread I chose for this project work well together, but all you need is beads with a big enough hole to string on the crochet cotton. It's a very adaptable project. It's the beaded bracelet in the image.

You will need:

• Crochet thread


• hook to match


• beads that can be strung on the thread


• bigger bead or button for closure


• tapestry needle


• scissors

I used Aunt Lydia's Size 10 crochet cotton in Aspen, and the beads are faux pearls from Cousin. There is a link below for the exact set I used. These faux pearls are glass and nicely heavy, and the colors match the shades in the Aspen thread very well. The set has 3 sizes in mixed colors, and I used the smallest which are about 5 mm and the largest which is about 8 mm for the bracelet.
The hook size I used is a size 7 or 1.5 mm hook. Check the mm size on your steel hook, Boye steel hooks run 1 or 2 sizes off from standard, they are a little on the big side.

Thread the button or clasp bead, then 18-20 smaller beads on your cotton. If you have a smaller wrist, 18 beads if your gauge matches mine will be just over 16 inches long leaving a bit of slack when wrapped twice. 20 beads will be about 18 inches long. This is an adaptable pattern, so if you're using 4 mm beads, you may prefer using 20 or 22 beads, if you want less space between your beads, you'll use more beads too.

A beaded chain means you slip a bead all the way up to the hook on the thread, then pull your loop for the chain from the thread over the bead.

Start chain:
Figure out how long the loop needs to be to go around your button or bead. For the 8 mm bead that I used, 12 chains worked perfectly. Chain the right number to go around your bead or button, slip stitch to join, chain 5, beaded chain, chain 5, beaded chain, continue until all the beads are used. chain 5, beaded chain using the button or bead.
Round 1:
Slip stitch into first 2 chains of ch 5. Sc in one side of the chain stitches for next 3 stitches, chain 3, skip the beaded chain, single crochet in one side of next 5 chains. Continue in that pattern until you reach the loop, slip stitch in each chain in the loop. Working down the other side of the bracelet, single crochet in each regular chain, chain 3 and skip the beaded chains. End with 3 single crochets to mirror the ones on the other side next to the clasp bead. Slip stitch in next stitch. Break off thread and weave in ends.
