The Impression tulips are a special series of outstanding Darwin hybrid tulip varieties. The Darwins are hybrids of the Darwin tulips and the Fosteriana tulips. These are highly recommended.

The Impression tulips come in a wide range of colors. They’re mid season varieties with classic egg shaped blossoms. These do best in zones three through seven.

Use these tulips in borders, bedding plants, and for cut flowers. The Impression tulips are reliable perennials that come back year after year.
Apricot Impression Darwin Tulip

Reaching 20-22 inches in height, this tulip is a lovely mix of different colors. They include pink, red, tangerine, orange, nasturtium-red, and pink-persimmon. All of this is accented with a pink glow. The interior black base is edged in yellow. Apricot Impression tulip blossoms are larger and longer lasting than other apricot colored tulips, according to White Flower Farm.

Design Impression Tulip

Design Impression tulip is 20-22 inches in height. The leaves are quite lovely because they’re two tone green with lime green edges on a dark green background.

The dark pink blossoms are particularly eye catching. The golden blush makes them look so vibrant.

Pink Impression Tulip

This tulip is perennial. It reaches 20 to 22 inches in height. The very large, rose pink blossoms with flames are held on very sturdy stems. The interior black base is outlined in yellow. This is a late blooming variety, usually in May.

This tulip was released around 1979, and was an award winning variety. This is a classically shaped tulip. Pink Impression tulip has become an all time favorite variety over the years.

Salmon Impression Tulip

Salmon Impression tulip is an outstanding garden plant that bears five huge blossoms. The very large blooms are a mix of different tones, including pink, apricot, salmon, and pink-apricot with a pink glow. This variety is a slightly lighter color than the Pink Impression tulip. These have marble pink edges on the petals. The base is steel-blue.

Blushing Impression Tulip

Blushing Impression tulip was introduced in 2020 or so. It is listed in White Flower Farm catalog as a new variety. The blossoms are a soft yellow with a pale raspberry flush. The interior is a bright lemon yellow.

As the flowers age, they become a unique blend of colors that can include vanilla, mustard, and ochre. This tulip is perfect for cut flowers.

Red Impression tulip

This reliable tulip originated as a sport of Pink Impression. The blossoms are an intense ruby-red with a rose glow. The exterior is bright red. The black base in the interior is edged with yellow. The inside of the flower is a deeper red than the outside. This tulip makes a wonderful long lasting cut flower.

In addition to the individual Impression tulips, some of the
bulb catalogs have mixes of different Impression tulips. White Flower farm sells an Impression Mix, listed in their fall 2021 catalog. The mix features 25 bulbs, enough for five square feet.

The Van Engelen fall 2021 catalog has an Impression tulip grand collection. This amazing mix features fifty each of six different Impression tulips.
