Pink Greatest Hits... So Far!!!
A greatest hits album is no longer a device released at the end of your career to generate a few more dollars. With her latest CD, Greatest Hits… So Far!!!, Pink, far from near the end of her career, demonstrates that by combining top singles with a few new tracks the public will be clamoring to get the latest goods.

The greatest thing about Pink, whose birth name is Alecia Beth Moore, is that she has made herself a role model in every sense of that phrase. She raised herself like a Phoenix from the ashes into the sensation she is today and did it with an in-your-face approach instead of the carefully constructed plastic models so often presented to us in popular music. She shows that you can be yourself, have your own beliefs, and have a conscience and still be successful.

With a strength not usually shown among female artists, Pink throws a message at her listeners, often demanding that we wake up and stop being sheep, submitting to cultural stereotypes and not thinking for ourselves.

The first single from the album is "Raise Your Glass," a pure, fun celebration that is perfectly suited for a greatest hits compellation. The lyrics and music make you think "party" and is a toast to past successes and those who helped get you there. The video injects Pink's Rosie the Riveter-like image and introduces a new generation to the concept of building a life for yourself, by grit and hard work, as the feminist icon suggests.

"Perfect," expletive deleted for the clean version, is the other new song from the record. With a pleading chorus, Pink manages to summarize reaching this point in her life and makes us able to relate and understand the process. As with all of her songs, vulnerability does not equal weakness by any means.

Another thing a successful greatest hits album needs to do is present a new listener with enough background to feel they know the artist's material to consider themselves a fan. Greatest Hits… So Far!!! achieves this in spades by getting the party started with all her biggest chart toppers before climaxing with her newest additions.

Pink may be far from perfect, but she is human and she speaks through her actions as well as her songs and that is something that all artists should learn. Get this record and brace yourself for more.
