From a Booth at Rush´s
Juli Wymer
They say that time makes it easier.
Maybe it comes less often,
But it’s not easier
Sometimes it sneaks up behind you,
Waiting…
…for the word
…the sound
…the scent
That gives it permission to squeeze your heart
Until your eyes overflow.
Sometimes it swoops down and just takes over
Leaving you paralyzed, unable to form even a thought.
Once in a while it’s gentle like a warm spring breeze
Or the turn of a fall leaf.
Grief is never easy,
It never goes away,
It just is.
