Pompo the condor thinks like a horse.
He nearly won the 2007 Kentucky Derby,
he flew between the pages of holy books,
leaving a feather or two. Are you a
Pompo appreciator? Better to ask than say.
Be liable for part of a poem Pompo,
as clouds change into your wings – another
part of the poem hides in a thicket.
I admire Pompo more than any humming-
birds. He is high enough to be
philosophical high enough to be closer to the centre.
Once, Pompo inwardly burned. Then he knew time
is an intense law. All the kings of the Andes
ordered bread.
Pompo needs bread, little else—
no ambiguities sit, they fly after
a moment Pompo might have left.
