Collapsed Corner
Brittany LaMontagne
tick the tin roof and chain link
clink, strays on the brink
cracking mirrors when gravity fears
carry them to rooftop lairs
cats pin tin with withered weight
wind sneaks under them
like a middle school boy
bound for second base
creaks beneath flaps claps slaps, collapse
in the government housing
corner duplex - a teapot ghost thin whistle
twists through the barred windows
marred murdered man wife child
flames licked their legs like hot tin cats
Bristol blue glass buffed by melting margarine
concrete terrazzo tin iron beds remain
hot chipping paint artistīs faint scrawl
fashionable shawl, nude sleepy brawl
all an ashen sprawl
