Sea Rhythms Call
Jody Zolli
Sea rhythms call
The liturgic thump – sigh – pause
Lush, frayed, and resounding
Dancing million minnows
Flash and flicker slickly
On the path of moonlight
Recessive rhythm ebbs
Bright encroaching creature
Clasping urgent unknown shores
Giant’s grimace turns to sighs
To writhe and rise
Between cove’s thighs
Would that I could waltz
That rhinestone-studded carpet
Laid by the full and fragrant August moon
