A Girl in Love with Silence
Linda M. Crate
i am the greatest tragedy
youŽll ever know
a flower
that didnŽt bloom
a snowflake burned to death
before her birth
an unfinished sentence hanging
in the tongue of a
skeleton
all i ever wanted was to be included,
but i intimidated you all;
always left in a
room of my own i began to enjoy the quiet
now you try to pull me out of
my corner and make me do things with you
but i no longer wish to
force me out of my corner and i will bite
a recluse spider
of your own devising
maybe if you loved me whilst i was searching
i wouldnŽt cling to solitude
as my lover.
