Rite of Passage
Richard Schnap
She was low on money
So she searched her closet
For dresses to sell
At the local boutique
Picking one out
She hesitated to lose
For she’d worn it the night
She first fell in love
But now it was just
A remnant of a time
When her innocent heart
Was too easily swayed
And after it left her
A girl right behind
With a starry-eyed look
Made it her own
